One of my old teachers from high school contacted me recently. His class is making a short film this semester, and they asked me to write a "Juno-esque" song for the soundtrack. The short film is about, and so I wrote this song with that in mind.

I have not sent them the song yet, I am probably going to have Emily Totten featured on this track as well, so hopefully I'll upload another version soon.

In my world
In my world well you could be
whatever you can dream, it’s fantasy
Every boy could be a king
And every girl can be a queen

So when I go
When I travel to this special place
Oh I know
I will grow
to be something great

The guy beside me proudly died
when they shot their arrows through the sky
I saw one hit him in the eye
and I’ve never seen him seem so alive

He fell to his knees and I saw him smile
No plea for mercy, and no denial
Sure he’d be out of the game for a while
but he sure went down and out in style

And when we’re finished for the day,
we’d all reminisce about the plays,
the swords and shields and friends we made
they made more sense than making grades

So we spent our afternoons out there
we didn’t care if the others stared
we were prepared to share the love
and we were not scared of their fear of us

In my world
In my world I can create
There’s nothing sweeter than the aftertaste
The afterglow of having made
something from nothing is strange
and it’s crazy how powerful an
impact just creating something makes

So when I go
When I travel to this special place
Oh I know
I will grow
to be something great

We sure were something in those days
Without a doubt it paved the way
for our achievements, I believe it’s
in those games we found our ways of being
Who we really were and it was freeing

looks like you guys are having a lot of fun in the picture. good vocals.
I like the 2:51 guitar with the vocals the best.

Rex Yehudi (shoham) gave feedback to Xack Fischer for “Swords & Shields”:
I like this song, but I feel as if it needs more percussion. I like the structure and the performance is good, including the vocal performance, but there needs to be a tambouringe and maybe a harpsichord.

Great start, but I think that it could be a bit better.

Thank you,
