A cover of a song that I have always liked and describes some emotions that I'm going through at the moment which is probably a reason I recorded it.
Nothing too complicated here as usual, just acoustic and vocals.

I believe the original is by The Cyrkle but the particular cover I was going for is more on the lines of Los Shaker's version. Either way, eh.

Lyrics:
I should have known you'd bid me farewell
There's a lesson to be learned from this and I learned it very well
Now, I know you're not the only starfish in the sea
If I never hear your name again, it's all the same to me

And I think it's gonna be alright
Yeah, the worst is over now
The mornin' sun is shinin' like a red rubber ball

You never care for secrets I confide
For you, I'm just an ornament, somethin' for your pride
Always runnin', never carin', that's the life you live
Stolen minutes of your time were all you had to give

And I think it's gonna be alright
Yeah, the worst is over now
The mornin' sun is shinin' like a red rubber ball

The story's in the past with nothin' to recall
I've got my life to live and I don't need you at all
The roller-coaster ride we took is nearly at an end
I bought my ticket with my tears, that's all I'm gonna spend

And I think it's gonna be alright
Yeah, the worst is over now
The mornin' sun is shinin' like a red rubber ball

Wow, I think this is when I started realizing how to properly sing/harmonize. I love listening back to my old stuff to compare to where I am now.

Yeah, I know this one, by "The Seekers" -- a good choice :)

Vocals could be a little tighter, though I did like the harmonies!

Thought it was a good choice also and glad you appreciated it.

Thank you for the vocal critique, I always appreciate an honest opinion. I have been working on my vocals a lot but trying to balance out that with the guitar practice as well. These songs are made pretty fast with my quick recording setup, usually when I first get off work or class, so it does add a bit of a roughness to the quality. Soon I will have a good computer and be able to setup my full recording equipment which should add a lot to quality. Sorry for rant, heh.

Also harmonies is something I've been trying my best to get just right with my limited equipment so it's nice to hear some good news about it.

That's true. Nice to meet you too. Most of my work is in writing, and most of what I have up is several years old, so no hurry.
