Lyrics:
Started out on the radio
at half past three
playing rock and roll lullabies
To the city asleep
All those who were restless
Would turn the nob
And they'd listen together as the DJ did his job
DJ play that song,
every time the radio's on
DJ we can't go wrong with you (x2)

As he started to get older,
he started to pursue
playing music on his guitar
and he sang the blues
Sitting at a parkbench
trying to sing
the DJ almost learned to play those 6 steel strings
DJ play that song
if I know the words I'll sing along
DJ I'll sing along with you (x2)
2
Then one day that no one planned
The DJ met a man
with a fire in his eyes, and a trumpet in his hands
So the two started playing
and they never stopped
Low and high, till the day they died
they rolled and rocked
DJ play that song
And if I die, just play it on
DJ play that song for me
Grab a record that you loved when your life was blue
Listen again to the melody that go you through
And you didn't forget, but you always neglected to put it on
When the DJ plays it, you remember why you love this song
The perfect tempo to bring you up when you are down
You just can't explain how you feel when the chorus comes around
Like you sort of found heaven in a catchy tune
The DJ just has this way of doing that to you.
DJ play that song
play it loud and play it long
DJ we can't go wrong with you
Hey, thanks a lot! My recording equipment isn't working right now, so I haven't been able to put any of my new music online but I greatly appreciate knowing that someone is still listening to my tunes. :)
I think this is a good start. I'd love to hear more tone and emotion in your vocals, though. Also, you might want to rework your verse melody/chords a bit - I immediately thought of Bad Company's Shooting Star when you started in. Keep it up, man!
