About us:
✎ Edit The Watermarks are known not only for their incendiary live performances, but also their D.I.Y. approach to recording, writing, and producing which has yielded 2 self released E.P.s and a continuing series of singles released on German Label AF-Music. These Indie rock D.I.Y. Ethics, noise-pop sensibilities, and electronic textures have lead the band to craft a unique sound where melody is the main character...a sound that is danceable and poppy yet full of loud guitars and heavy organic drums. The Watermarks reside in Houston and rarely rest from writing new material and playing live shows.
- Tracks licensed to shows on MTV, Oxygen Network, E!, ADV Anime Network, Crisis Center Houston PSA's, Mobile Videos (Verizon, ATT, T-Moblie), and The Houston Aeros.
- The Watermarks have shared the stage with bands and artists such as: Weezer, Echo & The Bunnymen, Cut Copy, The Flaming Lips, The Ting Tings, The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, British Sea Power, IAMX, Secret Machines, Trail of Dead, Heartless Bastards, Ghostland Observatory, Suicide Girls, Film School, Octopus Project, etc.
- Nation wide college radio promotion campaign lead by Team Clermont (teamclermont.com) targeting 250+ stations in US and Canada in Summer of 09 for new EP “Thoughts Like Bombs” (released June 09). Songs in top 30 on dozens of stations nationwide.

I like the energy in this song. And I like your cover art.

WalaWalaWala gave feedback to The Watermarks for “Run Away”:
I like the techno vibe on this tune, but I feel as if the vocals are being a little bit compromised with some of the effects you put on them.

Harmonies sound really good here in the middle, and the guitar solo is good as well. That's the only thing that's bothering me is that there's a little too much (I think) effects on the lead vocals, which otherwise sound QUITE good.

Thanks for sharing :)

This is really very tasteful overall. Vocals could come up a bit in the mix, I think but I like the composition, and the performances from all of you. Where are you guys located, and do you play out at all?

One thing that might add to the mix would be a little more accentuation for the harmonies in the piece. Very nice rhythms and change ups throughout.

Thank you very much for your nice words and your suggestions, we'll certainly take that in mind if we ever come back to re-mix or re-record this song.

We're located in Houston, TX, and we surely play out, mostly in Houston, but we're been on tour a couple of times and have gone all the way to Detroit. Our next show is in Austin. We're actually trying to play out of town more often.

What are you at?

If feel like it, go to our site (http://thewatermarks.com) or to our Bandcamp profile (http://thewatermarks.bandcamp.com) and you can download or listen to all our released material for free. We also have a little video on YouTube for a song called Fast Song. We'll be releasing a new single along with a video soon, and it will also be free.

Have a wonderful weekend!
