The Same Old Story

by David Samuel Partamian

The Same Old Story I met her at a square, I didn't know right then, What utter sadness and despair My life would soon commence. My friend - he said he loved her, I knew that it was true, But I knew he couldn't have her, I've come to love her too. She could've loved the guy - He was so sweet and nice, But there was always I - To make his all hopes die. I thought she would be mine, But it was no surprise, When she looked me in the eyes And said a sweet goodbye.
