Copper Scooby

This painting is made on a copper base board that is of dimensions 10x8
Made by my younger sister, who has just turned 9 yesterday :)
Looks very sparing, but she has worked for 4 hours and has given acute details to it with the help of a scraper.
One of the best artworks of my sister, hope you like it :)
Any feed back would be totally appreciated :)

Interesting medium for art. It does lend itself to looking like fur of an animal. For a 9 year old this is a great peice of art, heck I would be hard pressed to make something close to this.

I love how well this conveys convincing 3d depth; i had to stare at the image for quite awhile before i realized what I was seeing. If your sister has this attention to detail at age 9, then she certainly has a bright creative future ahead of her!

Kunall,

I love this one. My girlfriend has a dog named, "Skuby", but spelled differently, as you see. I am going to send her the link so she can see it.

Approximately what gauge copper wire did you use? How do you hold it in place to make the image? Is it just two dimensional or three?

Thanks for putting this up for review.

Done by your 9 year old sister?! That's hard to believe. I love the technique used to make the piece as well as the attention to the brush strokes made in the paint to reveal the copper. Took a second to realize that I was looking at a dog, but once everything began to take shape, it seemed that every stroke was very well placed and textured. Would love to see a higher quality photo of the piece where the light isn't reflecting so harshly off certain areas.

The Problem We All Live With
Just so you know, that wasn't meant to sound like I don't believe your sister did it, it just fascinates me that a 9 year old has such talent. Tell her to keep it up!

This is really cool, man! Do you have a dog like this-- or was this from a picture, or imagination. I noticed your younger sister made it. Send her my congratulation on a job well done :)
