Hope and holograms
Flying cars, bionic hands,

But she is not impressed
No, she prefers her loneliness

Well all her world’s an open page,
But she is of a different age

Peace and pumpkin pie

Nothing hurts,
No one cries

-Alone, in solitude
Everyone is dancing nude

A world without a test
But she prefers to reminisce

Oh all her world’s a stage,
And she is of a different age…

Kode of Bliss gave feedback to The Closers for “Lolly”:
This sounds a bit like pearl jam to me. The drums stand out as being excellent and sound great in the mix down. Vocals are smooth and sound great as well. Great mellow rock track.

I liked the anti-utopian feel to the lyrics, as well as the grungy sound. Thanks for the great song!

Ian Marquis gave feedback to The Closers for “Lolly”:
You really nailed the mix between lo-fi and well-produced in this song. The vocals really stand out, and the entire mix has a great garage rock sound. Tight drums, great tone, and an almost Zombies-like mood. I like it!

The Zombies, awesome! Thanks, yeah I wish that I could take full credit for the mix, but our guitar player did it, and I think you're right, he nailed it, as did our drummer with his performance! There's a live version, a little different vibe, see if you like it, and let me know what you think of it, please: Thanks.

I love y'alls stuff, bc each song almost sounds like a diff. band. You either have a ton of influences or a bunch of different people writing the songs. I am unfortunately quite a one trick pony, but I try ha :)

Stereoscopic gave feedback to The Closers for “Lolly”:
Definitely put together better than the others. I think you guys could do great things with the right equipment. The only recommendation I have for this is it's lacking a little bit on the lower end. Also, it feels like most of the sound is panned more to the right. Not quite sure if that's just the headphones I'm using, or if it's actually the case. And the vocals! You've definitely got the voice, and I like this one a lot more with the vocals more front and center. Good job!

Thanks Cal, yeah this one is a lot better in terms of production quality. I really need to learn more about mixing, mastering, etc. because I do most of the writing, so it does piss me off when I get left out of putting the final touches on a song. Thanks for listening!

Megatherian gave feedback to The Closers for “Lolly”:
This recording is strange, the vocals, drums and bass sound great, but the guitar is seriously having some tone problems. The clean tone is fine, but the distorted guitar sounds too treble heavy. There's no depth to it, which may just be a gear issue. Other than that, everything's awesome.

Thanks, Did this one a few years back. I kind of like the tone our guitarist got out, but it was a bit rushed, if I recall...

Ryan Toth gave feedback to The Closers for “Lolly”:
This sounds great, did you record in a home studio ? if so what kind of mic setup did you use for the drums? i like the distant feeling they have and i am also loving the droning distorted guitar in my right ear.

We did indeed record this in a home studio -- our drummer's house is where we usually record. He likes a lot of Mics on his drums, and I know he has one in the middle of the room to get everything at the same time as well. Our guitarist did the mix,k I think. Thanks for the + feedback! It's a free track -- tell your friends :)
