Rex Yehudi (shoham) gave feedback to The Closers for “Show Me How”:
This doesn't suck*! Seriously though, folks. The vocals are very smoky, I can say like this??? Needs a mouse-hair more bass-line...

"Show Me How"?!?! More like "SHOW ME THE KARMA!"!

Thanks,
-Uncle Showie

Rex Yehudi (shoham) gave feedback to sky flying by for “Back and Fill”:
Wow, this is really nice. Mellow tune, is it 100% live instruments? I wouldn't mind a little bit more of a jam
somewhere in the tune, like a bit more of a guitar solo but I really like it.
Better to have a little too little than a little too much, I think :-)

Thank you,

hello! thanks for listening! and yes, to answer your question, all live instruments. i would basically i track guitars and bass in my home studio through a nice DI then go into the studio and re-amp guitars/basses and track drums, we'd then mix in studio as well.

yeah this song and the record this is from was an interesting experience. my first foray into making a real record and not just screwing around. the music is evolving and getting less guitar/drums oriented, so yeah a bit more exploration which isn't necessarily "jam" but it's just... more less one-dimensional.

thank you :) and yes, got a few projects in the works. i have a 4-song 10" album which is just about done being written, few things left over. it's mostly modern-classical. lots of strings (i have cellist and violinist friends helping), kind of a fusion of sigur ros and a winged victor for the sullen, very dreamy and dark and subtle.

the other thing is a 7" single which is going to be very ambient, lots of drifting guitars and alternate percussion and whatnot. kind of along the lines of hammock and startle the heavens.

WUT?!?! This sounds awesome. Keep me posted! Excited to hear that folks are still writing, recording, performing out there. Save the music, or better yet, share it :-)

At first I thought 7 minutes would be extra boring because I'm tired/lazy, but it went by quickly and enjoyably! Very subtle changes throughout. Super relaxing.

heh yeah ambient can be a bit, challenging, i'd say :) my musical background isn't in this kind of thing so i like to keep things a bit more lively. i try anyway. thanks for listening!

I was thinking of The Rembrandts and had to wonder why anyone would cover the band that sang the Friends theme song. haha. This is a good song. Ill have to check out the original. It fits your voice well.

thanks a lot lol I heard the friends theme a couple months ago and was thinking someone should do a less wussy version of this, but yeah the replacements, the rembrants, and the romantics sometimes i get confused when i just hear their names, a lot of P bands I get confused to, proclaimers, prodigals, pretenders lol

haha. that's a good idea, but yeah, it would take a lot of de-wussifying though

I like the imagery. Which Rocky is this from? Cool tune and concept. It's a good beat too, there's some things I would recommend doing to it to make it even better, for more deets, you can PM me, I charge very reasonable rates.

Are you going to add lyrics to this? If so, I can help. Again, very reasonable rates!

Thank you. -Shoham

Rex Yehudi (shoham) gave feedback to Sean Russell for “Happens”:
Really relaxing stuff, Sean. Fun to listen and re-listen to for all of the little Easter eggs. I would consider this kind of "musique concrete". Is that fair to say? Thank you for sharing!

Thanks,
-Sho

PS: Did I buy this one yet???

Mellow :-) I might like a little more grit from the drum track that kicks in around 1:25, but otherwise it's a really good piece.

Keep 'em coming,

Rex Yehudi (shoham) gave feedback to Gremlin for “Goodbye/Goodnight”:
Cool tune. I would like to hear a little more of a middle somewhere in the middle, mate! Maybe some vocal harmonies as well.

The vocals sound good. Interesting story, as well. What's the background for it?

Thank you,
Shoham

don't give up man you are really good, and it's a great theraputic release, but it does drive you mad at times, but then you get it out in a great new song like this, break maybe, but never quit, and it sounds like it's in your soul so even if you stopped for years I bet you'd pick it back up, but you got a gift so....rock on!!! :)

Yea I think after writing ~25-30 songs since May, I am just at the point where I need to take a step back. This is such a supporting group of people on here. Every time I feel like I have written something that is utter garbage I put it on here and always get some sort of good feed "forward" ( XD) and am reassured to not put down my pen and paper (had no idea this was your brainchild Sho, very cool). This was basically my song saying I am stepping away for a bit, but since then, I have already came up with three more songs that need lyrics. Damn you muse!

"This was basically my song saying I am stepping away for a bit, but since then, I have already came up with three more songs that need lyrics. Damn you muse!" It's better than the alternative... "It's happening, it's happening, it's all happening!" PS: THat's a lot of songs, who are you, Neil Young?!?!
