Ted Kindig gave feedback to WalaWalaWala for “Anchor”:
This is a really cool song Shoham! That unusual, somewhat dissonant guitar riff is quite interesting on its own, but it also serves to make the release in that garage-pop "na na na" part hit even harder. The vocals are a perfect blend of emotive and technically strong; always great to hear WalaWalaWala on the front page!

Right on, Ted :D I'm quite proud of this one -- the riff actually came from Angkor Wat in Cambodia, where I was one time years ago. The second part of this piece is called "?" (as in "What" -- get it? Anchor ? (What) Angkor Wat, haha!). Kelly B made a video for us for it here:

Computer issues have kept me from recording lately, but I've got a couple of new songs on the way. I've also been doing some practices with a band, so hopefully we'll have some fuller rerecordings up at some point too!

Thanks for letting me know about this version. Anchor reminds me of so many things, although it's quite unique. Frank Zappa, Captain Beefheart and The Who are three that come to mind immediately. Great song and production on this one.

Daryl C. Hill gave feedback to WalaWalaWala for “Anchor”:
Hey, Shoham,

Did you have to practice a lot to get the sound of the intro?

This style reminds me of some of the acid songs produced in the later years of the Beatles reign.

I like the ending. Really leaves you wanting to hear more great tunes from WalaWalaWala.

Very nice, Shoham. Very nice, indeed.

Also like your Logo or cover for this piece.

Thank you kindly good sir the intro took some work, you're right-- I am a big Beatles fan -- esp. the acid rock days at the end -- White Album buff, for sure... It's a free download, btw, but you could also throw us a buck ;p

Speaking of Beatles, this one just popped up!

I like the drums guys! Very new wave sound you guys have-- esp. the lyrics. Kind of crazy! Nice licks at the end. I think that the production could have been a little higher quality, though...

The Amorous gave feedback to WalaWalaWala for “Anchor”:
I like it! Your voice reminds me a bit of OK Go, but in a very cool way. I definitely enjoy your guys' work. The vocals blend together pretty well, the guitars are layered nicely, and again the lyrics are catchy. Great work!
