chocodum gave feedback to The Airvents for “Tell You Anything”:
The song sped up noticably when the drums came in, who are also too loud compared to the singer. Yes, the drums has an inconsistent timefield throughout the song. Vocals are also occasionally off-tune here and there.

Great for a lo-fi recording. I like the riff and the energy, but I still wish you guys could get a slightly better (or slightly worse) microphone for your vocal recordings. The vocals sound quite good, especially on the higher notes, which are harder to reach. If possible, by getting another *layer* of vocals on top of what you have now (I think you are using Audacity, so you can layer) it will add more character tot he vocals, which is crucial. Thanks for sharing, thanks for caring. -Shoham

As always, thank you for the feed back. This one here is just a work in progress. In a few weeks we will be working with some one who actually knows what they are doing with recording equipment and the works, so we will be able to produce higher quality music and be able to do more with it. This, and some of our other songs will be getting a major face lift, and new ones will finally be recorded...be on the look out!

Cool. I had not heard of City of Caterpillar. I'll have to give the original a listen too, but I like what you are doing here.

Very ambient, very pleasant, kind of creepy at times, but I liked it a lot. Thanks for sharing.

I wish I could play guitar as well as you do. I'm not really a musician, just a singer ;p LOL,

Thanks :]
Unfortunately, City of Caterpillar never recorded this song in a studio. Or they have, and it was never released. I think there's a rumor that it will come out sometime... maybe.

I used this video as a reference: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRgRciwOhoo
Thanks again :]

Great work on the fiddle here my friends. :D Vocals sound great as well.
All and all a really nice composition, well performed and well recorded/mixed and mastered.

Tasteful guitar solo as well, and the drums are really tight, too. :D

Thanks so much fore sharing. Still waiting for you guys to come down to Pittsburgh! :D

The boys are back, hell yeah! When are you going to be playing out again?

Good mixture of sounds here, my friends, good mixture -- it's like Jane's Addiction, I feel.
Good drive on this.

cool cover art! good drums and vocal, it would be good if you could hear the vocals a little more over the drums.

We'll try to work on getting louder vocals. It's a challenge for us, we record in one track on a Rockband mic. But we are trying different set up and such. Thanks for the feedback!

Quinn gave feedback to The Airvents for “Faulkner Said Don't Move”:
I bet you guys get The Strokes a lot, and I mean that in the best way possible. Besides it being a little lo-fi for me I can't really find anything wrong with it except the timing changing a bit throughout the song... but it sounds like it might be intentional? Either way, great job.

Thanks! As for the timing I'm not so sure about it... hah. Oh and for being lo-fi, it's funny, we record in one track with a Rockband mic.
And again, Thank you!

J. Wager gave feedback to tom clark for “Learn To Frown”:
This sounds like something of Green Day's "Warning" album, sounds good. Have you considered mixing and mastering?
 Jan 23, 2012, 08:56 EST

Great flute tone, guys. Really impressive. Rhythm section sounds strong underneath it as well.

Gotta love the transition at 1:45 and Irish punk vox as well :D Liked, and "liked".

How often do you guys practice? This sounds very well rehearsed, and tight.

every week probably. at least once. Mainly we learn a song during practice, and then instantly record it . Its easiest that way haha. Thanks for the feedback again mates!
