Thank you Shiloh, I really appriciate that. I've been writing so much lately, I've almost filled up a whole notebook of ideas and songs. I really only record the ones I think are worthy enough.

so many things in our environment/surroundings we miss out on. Looks kind of like a torture device to me...

Nice shot. Did you know this gentleman or was he just kind enough to let you photograph him?

I was walking up a mountain near Huaraz Peru, and this guy let me take a picture of him. This lady nearby, too: https://www.feed-forward.net/w.5963_Dat_Hat

Is it about a dog?! ;)

Haha... In a way I guess. Its about a guy who is so lost he is erasing all the people in his life that love him, because he is really happy being lost and rejected.

I really stuggle with how to arrange it so it is fluid. I feel like it looses direction or maybe no clear direction is present... I don't really know if it makes sense.

"One writes out of one thing only - one's own experience. Everything depends on how relentlessly one forces from this experience the last drop, sweet or bitter, it can possibly give. This is the only real concern of the artist, to recreate out of the disorder of life that order which is art." - James Baldwin

Holy shit! Ask and you shall receive. First of all, thank you. Talk about a quick response. Most appreciated :)
Absolutely brilliant.
I love the confidence in your vocals. Really brings this song home.
You filled it out wonderfully.
I really like the "fire" at the end.
Awesome work!!

Oh yeah, and I am in Colorado and I'll let raumcole answer for himself :D

I write poetry, but most people find my stuff sad and depressing... I don't often share due to this.

shiloh wangsgard gave feedback to Raum for “"Claim" - Final Version”:
The first thing I noticed is how much better it sounds now that you have it filled out.
The lyrics are so thought provoking in a way that I have not found often .
New and fresh is always great
Your softer background voice might be a bit too soft...as a thought.
Overall, great job

Appreciate the compliment on the sound. Getting levels and such is so difficult even after all these years of recording.

I wanted to make a song that sounds catchy but doesn't resonate the way it should until you actually listen and take in consideration of the lyrics. I'm trying to get more "out there" with my writing.

What are you thoughts on the solo, bass line, and the added guitar lead at the very end?
