Nice new tracks, $Lokey512, this one kind of sounds like Mike Myers to me. Are you planning to add lyrics to this track at some point/work with someone to do so?

 Oct 02, 2017, 12:08 EDT
Appreciate it shoham...I don't really have any plans for these two tracks I posted...

I think if you can connect with a lyricist it could be a nice combo especially for this production style.

Right on...I been thinking on it for sure

Nice when that sub comes in. Great sounding track. Seems a bit left side bass heavy, but besides that very cool track.

I wish that I had 1/10th your production chops and or interpersonal skills so I could get some good recordings! Very radio friendly. Better than 2Pac. Compliments to the chef as well.

What more do you really have to do with this track, I think it's ready to go...

I also believe you have more than you think you do. i can't even play any music instrument...look at how you stroke the strings and singing at the same time. That, is something else.

Yeah, my main problem is a lack of self confidence. Tell that to $gabrielle LOL. If anything I don't have enough trust in collaborators, I think and then my ability not to jump off the rails when collaborators fall short!

Do you know the good thing about lack of self confidence?
Which means the only thing that stands between you and doing what you really want to do is yourSELF .
I always have problems working with other people too though. Like the time I started music, it was supposed to be a group thingy. We called ourselves Rex & Max;
W had these good songs and started doing shows and all, my partner messed us up cause he had other agendas. We weren't really making much then 2002 but had lots of fans so we were able to stage shows and pull crowds. Well, soon my partner began to have ideas. he started to think that because we hosted many shows means we were making money. So he planned with these other guys to come rob us after a show, and funny thing was, he spent the entire money sent to him to pay for the venue and DJ. But still was planning to have us rob, it didn't make any sense and I was to go perfume alongside he, he is a good dancer so his work was just to show his moves while i rap on stage.
It was christmas, so i left school and went for the show in a different state only for me to find out that some other artists have booked the place and there was no DJ etc. It was bad, we had a fight and later I was told about the plan he had with some other dudes to rob us.
After that we parted ways I went solo. Met another producer who wanted us to work on an album together. after recording almost seven tracks, we had a problem and that project got dumped. So i am finding hard to trust these guys. I love doing my thing alone. face it alone, I am my only foe now so if something don't go on itz cause i refuse to

Yeah, sadly this kind of back-biting and in-fighting/second guessing and jealousy takes place where it 'shouldn't'. But opposites attract and when there are limited resources and hunger -- there will be war...

My mentor is 2pac. The young dude who featured me here is Benjamin. He wants me to rap in all the songs in his album so we will be recording the next track next week

I mean how do you know Benjamin? You guys sound good together. Keep them coming and ''keep your head up"

Oh that. Well, while at the university in Bauchi state, I moved to this place opposite Benjamin's school back in 2008 and he was running a program then and we both figured we were all in the music stuff but he was more of a lil' Wayne fan and me a 2pac follower, all he talked about then was women, weed and al these get-high type of songs lol but we always talked about maybe recording together and all which never happened cause we all graduated and left the Bauchi 2012. So we only keep in touch on facebook even though we both working in Abuja, after hearing my last work, "Look at me now" he called that he wants to feature me in his new song and that he would want to use the same producer for my track, so we set up a date and had it crested and sealed. Benjamin is a choir boy, I was but left in the 90's haha now he wants us to produce a whole album together. Hmm I hope I got the strength cause i feel I am out of lyrics already but will try

So is this the story you were telling me about? I like the subtle production qulaity of this track. Not too many unnecesary frills. Who did the production on this? And the backup vocals?
 Sep 16, 2016, 05:41 EDT
Richard Shekari
Yeah this is just a tip of the iceberg of THE STORY i was tellingyou about haha it happened around 2011 and when i said no to their proposal and then the next thing they decided to do was to kill me in the spot...well, you heard the rest of what went down. Actually, that event opened my eyes to many things.
The instrumental was produced by one Tom Gee, a producer I met recently and the backup vocal was done by one Paul, a friend to one of my cousins who is also an artist.

I agree, it does have good energy. Nice overall beat as well. Some nice flourishes in there to add to the sound overall. I did feel that the master was a bit flat, but that could easily be fixed and of course that is just my opinion.
