Rex Yehudi (shoham) gave feedback to Ian Marquis for “Move Along”:
Very weird stuff, and I mean that in the best possible way.

If you like David Bowie at his best, you're gonna like this track a lot. But again, Ian this is what I mean; you're not going to hear this on the top 40.

It's probably no coincidence that I love Bowie and am forever caught up in chasing the weird, wonderful sounds that I haven't heard yet. :)

Cool little Indian motif/backwards sounding guitar on this intro here, Ian!

I like the new sound. Very easy to move to. Very catchy, and has a new feeling to it, although it is consistent with your trademark 80' sound that we've all come to know and love.

I am impressed by how far you have come, and am looking forward to more!

Good to hear from you again :)

Glad you like it! I've been trying to make my sound even more polished, professional, and integrated. I think this album is going to be a good one for me - one I can get some attention for, if I push it.

Cool effects on the intro, Ian.

I have to introduce my good friend Louis to some of your stuff, I just found out that he is really into Tears for Fears, which once again this one is reminding me of!

I like the vocals too, cool changes, and great production value as well, as usual.

Thank you for sharing!

Wow. Thank you so much for sharing my stuff with your friend. That is awesome - I hope he enjoys it!

This song has gotten a bit of play on a local station during a nighttime show for local artists, and I think it's probably the best of the "electronic" songs on the album.

I can believe it. One step at a time, and next thing that you know you will be a leader in your community...

I like the multiple voices you have going through this one, Ian!

Cool tune, what is the cover art of?

Are you promoting this to the radio yet??? This one is the perfect length and style for the average consumer!!!

Thanks again,
Shoham

Glad to hear it! I struggled with the vocals to this song for a while, and did several different takes on it before settling on what you're hearing now.

The cover is a "mistake" shot I got of someone's face once. I found it when digging through my old archives for concepts for the album's design, and thought it was a good fit for this track. :)

I'm just now finding the time to do my initial radio promotion. I've been doing some work with Jango and other internet radio sites in the meantime, but college radio is where I want to target my energy.

Very rich sound, man :] you have literally no ceiling, my friend. this album will take you wherever you are willing to take it. i believe in you. now you have to do everything you can to promote this. one suggestion is to go to your local radio stations in Bangor -- I know that I've mentioned this one before, but 'it bears repeating'. College stations, especially. There must be 6 in Bangor alone. Talk to Stephen King if you have to, but you have to get this stuff out there even more :] Shoham

You give good advice! And if I'm smart, I'll follow it (I plan on being smart). I need to establish a "home base" of support that I can draw from to move to even better things. I'll have professionally printed copies (short run) of the album by next month, and then I will hit the ground running. Also, I saw that you grabbed a copy of the album. Thank you, man. You rock.

"I need to establish a "home base" of support that I can draw from to move to even better things." I think that your job (in part) is bringing the world to Bangor, it is more economical in a sense.............. Let the world support you, and where you are form, and not the other way around. The world can afford it! Bangor needs you, and you are from Bangor. There's nothing better than that ;]

You know, that's a good way of looking at it. And the internet makes that easier. A LOT easier.

"It is not necessary that you leave the house. Remain at your table and listen. Do not even listen, only wait. Do not even wait, be wholly still and alone. The world will present itself to you for its unmasking, it can do no other, in ecstasy it will writhe at your feet." Franz Kafka -- OK, it is extreme, you SHOULD leave the house, LOL! But the point is just that you are making it happen, now get that next lap under your belt, it is an easier lap than the (ultr)marathon that you just ran!

I hadn't heard your stuff in a while, Ian. Great track! What's your next move? I might need your help, remixing my next album -- a solo project. I will let you check out some of the tracks once I have some of the stems in place.

Great stuff, as always, Ian. Lyrics, = great, too.

Thank you,

Hey, thank you! I'm currently trying to wrap up work on my next album. I'm hoping it'll be done by this summer. If you're curious, I keep an up-to-date set of songs at http://ianmarquismusic.com/album/faces-from-the-static-2013-wip. I'll be putting the new set on FF once it's done, of course :)

Also, I'd love to hear what you're up to!

I totally agree with JZC, another awesome 80's-type track! I also liked the little bit of what I think was an Indian flair at the start.

I can definitely hear the Robert Smith influence on this one -- and that's definitely a good thing :D

I would love to hear some vocal harmonies one this track, too!

Thank you.

Thank YOU.

I've really been hitting a stride recently, upgrading my sound, and I realized I hadn't put any of my recent work on Feed Forward. I decided to fix that, because I think these new songs are some of my strongest work to date. I'm completely stoked that you agree!

I am gearing up for a big promo period, but have been so busy I haven't had a chance to reach out to many stations yet. I want to send out a ton of letters and copies of The Man Forgotten, and then turn around in a bit and hit everyone with the new album when it's done. Also, I am planning some experimental videos.
