I can get you the current draft if you dm me your proper email.

I feel like your taking mouth shape more seriously in these tunes -- 1/2 of all tone is gonna come from that.

As for essential benefits, the way I look at it we are probably in the best of all times and places (covid notwithstanding). But it's easy for humans to get complacent !level_up_america

PS: Great imagery here :)

Replied to message with email. Yes, it’s all a journey. I feel like vocally I have only improved, while musically I have declined LOL. This is true. We could be in a lot worse place. Haha thanks for the imagery praise. This one oddly enough inspired by Dylan and Dolly

Finally got to check some of these out - very sweet. Good tone. Did you even get my dm about the book I am writing?
 Apr 01, 2020, 14:19 CDT
I did not. Let me check for that today. I too have thought of a COVID inspired writing session. Will check out DM today

Very rough, execution about 50%, but I especially am enjoying this thing that happened to my guitar -- the "D" string knowb is stuck, so it is now a second B string -- makes some cool combos by playing normal chord shapes. Anyway, worth a lol, perhaps... https://www.feed-forward.net/w.7363_COVID-19_bLUEs

Finally got the right tech together.... Spooky Gremchords. An instant standard.

I’m pretty much always in a Canadian tux. Part of my blue collar heritage probably. Thankfully the weather has been nice to wear right now. The chords are def plentiful in this. I think it is funny how I can write a tune with like 3 chords, and then others require near 50. It’s all about the journey I guess. Instant standard is too kind!

I have to check this out when I get a regular computer back - I wrote a similarly titled tune recently: "I can feel it in my fingers, I can feel it in my shoes, I can feel it coming on now it's the covid 18 bLUEs - is it a hoax, is it a praNk, oscillate it a ruse? Oh no, it's just a nasty case - a case of covid 19 bLUEs!

God willing we can get serious about a negative income tax that fades out as income increases- work is so unproductive! Imagine a world where you can actually create things of value without constantly worrying about making rent... You'll be more productive.

Sounds like we are both struggling currently lol. I with lack of functional equipment and you with PC issues. That idea is utterly utopian, but as an artist, I can’t get behind it enough. Sounds amazing

It's more capitalist than you realize. Out of 100,000 working hours in your life, if you are doing something unfulfilling, how productive are you? I will argue not very productive at all. Most people absolutely want to work, almost all artists are mis-employed and we need a creative economy now more than. Guarantee Healthcare, guarantee income, and guarantee post secondary and continuing education. It's a structural change and it's 💯 % necessary for capitalism to survive. How much would it cost - 750 billion per year for guaranteed income (with phase out and perhaps MINIMAL work requirements). Health expansion will be another 750 billion a year and post secondary a measly 250 billion. All in all 1.75 trillion per year in annual spending.

BUT HOW WILL WE PAY FOR IT?!?! We won't- money doesn't grow on trees but it does get helicoptered in for essential benefits. These are essential benefits.

"Why did the epidemiologist go to work on designing strategies for designing 'viral' videos?"

"Because she had to pay off her $250,000 in student loans."

Thank you! A tough one to sing! I might go a half step down and see if the higher registers arent as strained vocally

Gabrielle gave feedback to Gremlin for “Broken Arrow...”:
I like to pretend like I know music terminology so . . . this song is sung in a perfect "range" for you. Even the higher notes(that sound like they'd be difficult to sing) sound really good. AKA: no sense of struggle in any of your singing on this one

You have a a ton of songs on here, and I definitely haven't listened to them all but this one is a stand out for sure. Cool imagery and cowboy sound.
 Oct 10, 2019, 12:00 CDT
Thanks Gabrielle. Yes I def have a ton of stuff on here. I need an editor HAHA. Appreciate it, I think maybe increasing exercise and things has improved lung capacity some and helped with singing overall. I guess it is a bit like a downtrodden Roy Rogers tune so the cowboy vibe is fitting.

Impressionistic technique. Very raw -- in a very good way. This is probably what I am shooting for with my no-fi pieces, but they don't turn out with the sound quality you got on this one.

Anyway, I think you should use this technique more.

 Sep 30, 2019, 07:31 CDT
Thank you kind King Yehudi. Hah yes I suppose it is a bit impressionistic with a dash of Japser Johns or Cy Twombly attitude of just throwing it at the canvas and see if it sticks. Yes, currently my laptop is out of commission so all my recording equipment is just expensive paperweights at the moment. All I have is this cheap used iPad I got off ebay but the mic is surprisingly decent. The high ceilings provide some natural 'verb. No audio enhancements of any kind, just through a filter on the video on iMovie.

Perspiration is like recording in the red. Sometimes you have to clip out to let the inspo shine through...

Been listening to a lot of stripped down folky music lately which has kind of inspired me to get back to basics with my own songwriting. The last few I have written have been very sparse and get by more on tone and intention rather than Gremlin chord bootcamp.

This is one I have been enjoying a lot lately. The whole record is soothing. https://joanshelley.bandcamp.com/track/wed-be-home

Nice love tune! Dodgers hat?! Vocals sound real strong on this track.

Am I sensing some Grimoire Guitarisms?
 Sep 11, 2019, 07:34 CDT
Haha thanks. Been trying to write a proposal song. Feel like this one has been my best so far.

Haha yep. Been a dodgers fans since childhood after watching the pirates destroy my reds every season lol. Was disheartening after a while. Still have a soft spot for the big red machine...

Thanks, currently only way I have to record right now is by making a vid so I guess sound wise it isnt too bad considering zero effects or EQ.

Haha my influences always betray me...

Well I mean, I am sure to some extent me playing around with the scales and things in the evenings has creeped in to my playing in general. :) Hah they did yes, ironic that I am now a pirate myself...

I didn't realize they have a whole series of those books for diff instruments as well as a few others for guitar. Ran into a bunch when I was killing time as a guitar center recently.

I just got myself the chords book. I really think it's prett damn good -- especially the front page of each set, shows the entire fretboard with the 1-3-5 or 1-b3-5 etc for every position. Just fun to conduct mini-gremfests sometimes over the last few weeks with these. Plus, it incorporates the book I sent you, in terms of matching each permutation with the various scales/modes. For $20 I think it was worth it... I think the Reds have done better than the buccos over the last 30+, but... 1990 NLCS, much?
