Rex Yehudi (shoham) gave feedback to Wanderbreed for “A55H01e”:
Very nice track. I like it, kind of ambient, and very chill... Kind of has some arabesque flavours as well...

On a constructive criticism kind of note, I wouldn't mind hearing a little bit more to this track, it has lots of room to be more like 5 minutes than two...

What kind of coffee are we talking about here. I'd like to buy this track, but not for shwag...
Thank you,

Woah, woah, woah. I hope you'll put it here. I'm on here every day, and like buying stuff from indie artists like myself. Thank you and congrats...! Shoham

Don't worry, I am not going to use a distribution service that does not respect my right to sell on direct sites such as this :)

I definitely respect your rights. We need to stick together as artist! Hang together or separately :) Shoham

I re-uploaded this as mp3, and this is funny, I can see the waveform now, but I cannot play the track...

I think it's the browser or operating system, but this is a new problem for us... Trying to figure this one out! Sorry and Thank you...

Am I missing something here??? No sound!

I think it failed to convert from flac, I'll replace it with an mp3 :)

Word! FLAC should work, but, eh! Looking forward to litening :) Thank you, Shoham Zober, FeedForward Co-Founder

Interestingly, I'm not seeing a way to replace just the audio file.

I'm guessing I have to delete the work and create a new one?

That's probably the easiest way! Sorry for any confusion. We are good, but far from perfect. It's hard to know what caused the problem. Sorry for the inconvenience!!! Shoham

I'm definitely digging this, man! The main riff reminds me a lot of "Mr. Sandman".

Two artists I'd recommend connecting with are SchizoHead: and noclass:

Really happy to hear you trying new ideas out!

Thank you,

A chippy tune, indeed! I THINK this is my favorite version of this one yet, but you may have archived previous versions, as I can't find the other versions. For me, one particular highlight of this version was more sophstication from the drum line.

You're getting better, and better, and better my friend -- and that is a very encouraging thing for us all!

Thanks! Did you see the Video I think is kind of cheezy funny. I also put FF as the buy Link on the Video.
Dubstep Reddit downvoted it from the moment I posted it, so dubsteppers must not like it, but I say F them.

THANKS! I'll go check it out now. I'd still say throw it up here, as it doesn't cost anything, and we always keep the original file you upload, so when we improve the FLV quality we stream it will give a boost to the video...

Re the /r/ It's *possibly* not their fault. I've been doing some work into the dynamics of Reddit's voting system. If you put up a link to one of your works and so does another composer, his/her natural incentive is to just downvote everything on the page, and upvote with as many accounts as possible their own links. It's a D-Bag move, but it's it is a natural thing to do... I think the survey says it's the logical thing to do... TL;DR YES, F them!!!

I'm loving the cover art, KB. Has a very NeoGeo look to it! I'll give her a listen when I get back home tonight! On vacation the last few days -- great time at the Great Lakes! How is all in WA state?

Very effective, and even infective indeed...

Did a download, I might play around with this one to see what I can do...!

I'll report back. Also, what do you do once you have the square wave?

I like this part at the end, especially -- has an insane circus like quality to it -- right up my alley :D
 May 29, 2012, 20:42 EDT
Main effect with the square wave is just a chorus device in reason that's heavily detuned. Basically means it's processed to sound like 16 copies of the instrument are playing at almost the same time, with maybe a couple ms apart, each one slightly detuned from the original note. Sort of like hearing a bunch of people sing the same song at the same time but each voice has different tonalities to them. Not sure how that would be accomplished in audacity. Maybe just copy a square wave 16 times, barely change the pitch of each bit or loudness of certain wavelengths with an eq, then super impose them over your main line in timing ever so slightly off the main tempo.

Scratch that, it was the Unison device. The chorus/flanger would have a much different effect.

Interesting technique. I started messing around with just square waves, and here's what came of it, last night, obviously just a concept at this point: But I'll take your ideas into account -- thanks!

I like it! How did you make the piano track? Performance, piano roll or sample? I esp. like the drum beat. -showie

As far as samples go, I'm not sure. Quite a few of the synths that Reason uses use patches. Patches are essentially preset envelope, wave type, modulation values, etc. that apply to that specific device in reason. Some of the devices, however, use .wav files for main sample, like the redrum device for example. This is where google is your friend since most DAW's that use a piano roll can do things with .wav samples. The sounds that I use are in the factory sound bank of reason, so they just kind of come with the program. Other DAW's will usually also have their own samples plugged right in. I don't really know of any banks with free samples, however. Though, there's always recording your own if you've got the equipment and the instrument.

OK. Thanks, that's a good point. I guess playing with around with sine waves can work too? -sho
flag (May 25, 2012, 07:32 EDT)
Definitely. If you can find good samples of sine, square, triangle, sawtooth, and noise waves, there's a hell of a lot you can do. Just check out some chiptunes by people like Sabrepulse or Colon Openbracket for proof of that.

Cool, thanks for the encouragement. Anything in particular (effects-wise) that I should look at doing to the waves. I noticed that fading in and fading out on a sine makes it sound like a steel drum or glass harmonica -- any other tricks you can think of? Would be very helpful! Thanks.

More genius music! I will have to buy this album, for sure! What a combination of Western dance music, and great Bollywood style song-craft.
Who is this singer, I don't recognize her, or is she a newcomer?

Thanks again for sharing,
