Not the greatest recording, but a 1st class song, we think :)

Lyrics:
Own my own,
There's nothing more I'm working for,
But to own my own

I've got a mind to mind what's mine,
And there's nothin' burnin'
Ain't done learnin'

Hold all merchandise

The wound ain't in the mirror,
But I couldn't hold out anymore-
It's a little clearer,
Still, it isn't what I'm looking for

...

Hold my own,
There's nothing more I'm reaching for
But to hold my own...

I've got a plan- when I hit sand
And there's no more workin'
Quitin' surfdom
Take up surfin'...

It's ok if I don't want another one
I'm just a little child and I'm hoping to replace you with a smile! ;)

nice to hear from you. i wish that the production quality of this track was a bit better! but, it was an honest take, so there's that... It's a free download -- or pay what you want in AC.

oh damn that's not cool, this is always the problem with bands.
i don't know why the story is always the same. well, nothing to be sad about, i think this should give you enough time and energy to discover yourself and give the world what you got

Yes, it is. It is a mystery to me, too, man. I think that too many artists are too centered on ourselves and our visions. Shows up clearly in a band, I think. Thanks for the encouragement, too.

Scott Wells gave feedback to The Closers for “Own My Own”:
nice piano line. this song really suffers from production quality. im pretty sure its mixed in mono and your vocals are getting drowned out.

You're pretty much on point, which is sad, but true. Man, if my vocals could be something other than drowned out now and again that would sure be nice...! It's a quirky chord progression. I'll see if I can recall it. This was recorded like 7 1/2 years ago, so it was actually tape, and just awful acoustics. Thanks for listening, for sure, though!
