Michael Rattray is a composer, singer, musician and artist based in Perth, Scotland. His visual works have been exhibited in Perth at Murray Royal Hospital, A.K. Bell Library and Perth Museum and Art Gallery. He has also exhibited in Glasgow at Artspace, Skypark (Artpistol exhibition www.artpistol.co.uk), Independant exhibitors Polka dot Punks (www.polkadotpunks.co.uk) and Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art. He began creating visual art in 1998. He has not been to Art college and he has had no formal training which he feels is important in keeping his works pure in expression, free from any pre-conceived ideas or rules. He has also released 5 studio albums with various musical projects.
"I take inspiration from surreal artists like Dali, Picasso, Banksy and Adam Neate. I enjoy abstract expression and like the viewer to find their own interpretation of my work. Much of my work is to do with the dark and light side of human experience and emotion. Depression, anxiety and despair are all featured in my work but most importantly so too are the opposite extremes: Hope, Perseverance and Love". If you are interested in obtaining his work or a mounted print please get in touch. He does not accept cash only gifts or vouchers. Thanks. E-mail: ordinarygeezerhotmail.com |
