A short song. It was written at around the same time "The Beaches" was. That's why the theme (and quality) is somewhat similar.

Lyrics:
The sun was up so I stepped outside
And you told me to stay there
I couldn't talk, my tongue was tied
So I couldn't lie

I looked so deep into your eyes
I almost felt I was drowning
Like I was caught beneath the tides
And I couldn't rise

The storm passed and I found your heart
And I hope that you found mine
So the tides had played their part
And you played yours too

WalaWalaWala gave feedback to Benci for “Slow Tides”:
Nice tune. Has a lot of promise. Could stand alone as a lo fi song, but I'd like some more of a rhythm section to this piece. I'm always trying to right love songs like this. What's your secret?

Best part is maybe the cover, what is this from? It looks like Sheldon Silversteen.

Enjoyed the fade out technique as well, I always like that technique :D

Benci  Thanks. I will need to add a rhythm section to this song, as well as most of my other works.
If there was a secret, I'd keep it to myself! But there isn't one.
I drew the cover. I guess it does remind of the drawings in Shel Silverstein's books, but this one is mine.

Fade outs are the coolest!  (Mar 08, 2012, 07:49 PST)

WalaWalaWala  Nice. Definitely thought this was from the Shel Silverstein canon. Can you get a live band together? That would be optimal.  (Mar 08, 2012, 20:05 PST)
