s.a. zober gave feedback to Spyduck for “Microcosm”:
Very effective, and even infective indeed...

Did a download, I might play around with this one to see what I can do...!

I'll report back. Also, what do you do once you have the square wave?

I like this part at the end, especially -- has an insane circus like quality to it -- right up my alley :D

Spyduck  Main effect with the square wave is just a chorus device in reason that's heavily detuned. Basically means it's processed to sound like 16 copies of the instrument are playing at almost the same time, with maybe a couple ms apart, each one slightly detuned from the original note. Sort of like hearing a bunch of people sing the same song at the same time but each voice has different tonalities to them. Not sure how that would be accomplished in audacity. Maybe just copy a square wave 16 times, barely change the pitch of each bit or loudness of certain wavelengths with an eq, then super impose them over your main line in timing ever so slightly off the main tempo.  (May 30, 2012, 11:02 EDT)

Spyduck  Scratch that, it was the Unison device. The chorus/flanger would have a much different effect.  (May 30, 2012, 11:08 EDT)

s.a. zober  Interesting technique. I started messing around with just square waves, and here's what came of it, last night, obviously just a concept at this point: http://www.feed-forward.net/w.4293_Chippy_Rough_and_Raw_for_Spyduck But I'll take your ideas into account -- thanks!  (May 30, 2012, 12:23 EDT)

s.a. zober gave feedback to Gremlin for “Go On Home”:
Cool chord changes here. Voice sounds very clear as well.

Am listening to the rest of the album as I type. The whole thing is really astounding. Great tunes, simple production, awesome lyrics.

What more can I say? Shut up and take my money! Seriously though, I would like to buy this album if you slap a PayPal on it. Probably this and
“Changing of the Seasons” are my favorites. Thanks for sharing, -Shoham

Gremlin  Thank you so much for the feedback. Wasn't expecting anything so soon haha. It isn't really an album, just demos I write and record so I can send them to my bandmates to see if they think they are worth working on. Saves time with band practice as everyone can learn the songs on their own and come up with riffs and what not to add and then we all work on them together.

I wouldn't take any money for them, they are just crappy laptop demos. I can make them available for free download for you (thought I already had but I forgot apparently)

Best,

~Grem.  (May 29, 2012, 23:32 EDT)

s.a. zober  I don't know, you could make a solo career out of it if thing don't work out! Wouldn't mind hearing the full band versions, whenever you get those recorded -- let me know! Good luck and thanks, -showie  (May 30, 2012, 08:06 EDT)

Daryl C. Hill gave feedback to Gabrielle for “Nightfall”:
Gabrielle,

This is a very interesting one. It has me confused and that is a good thing. Now, I will have to take a second, third, and maybe, even a forth look at your photograph to try to figure it out.

You have hooked me, Gabrielle. Congratulations!

s.a. zober  In fairness to me, (which is what it's all about) I may have actually taken this picture!!! #copyrightinfringement  (May 30, 2012, 08:08 EDT)

Gabrielle  Thank, you Daryl. PS -It's a miniscule portion of a photo which someone else may or may not have taken. Jealousy = ugly.  (May 30, 2012, 20:26 EDT)

s.a. zober  Daryl, you'll have to forgive Gabrielle, what she lacks in manners, she makes up for in talent (and beauty...)  (May 30, 2012, 20:35 EDT)

Daryl C. Hill  Ok, enough, you two!

Gabrielle,

Barbara loves to go up real close to a portion of a photograph to make some of her masterpieces. It is just having an eye and knowing where and how to look at things. It is a real talent that I can not seem to master, but she certainly has.

Daryl C. Hill gave feedback to Gabrielle for “Stormy Sky”:
Gabrielle,

Very foreboding looking sky, there. You just know something is going to happen.

What else can I say? Nice contrast and colors. It is just a great shot.

Thank you, so much, for sharing it with us, Gabrielle.

Benci gave feedback to M|O|O|N (Stephen Gilarde) for “'Crystals'”:
Cool piece! The bassy changes drive the song, it holds together the dancing electronic melody well. It really flows nicely.

It's been a long time coming.

Oh man this is just great, Showie!

I don't know what to say other than I absolutely love what you did with this riff. Your voice is very soothing and calming. I noticed a bit of an echo effect on there, or I may be crazy.

Certainly love it.
Thank you.

s.a. zober  I put a bit of Raumcole (or George Martin, was it) into the vocals, but adding multiple tracks of the same line and panning them in different directions -- just a little bit of studio magic, LOL. Glad you enjoyed it -- I think this is the start of something big my friend...  (May 28, 2012, 07:50 EDT)
