s.a. zober gave feedback to Benci for “Sunlight (M. E. Frye)”:
I am ashamed to say that I didn't get this track when I first heard it as well as I feel I understand it now.

Very sad tune, and kudos to M.E. for the lyrics. This is going to get my highest praise: belongs in the next [good] Tarantino movie.

Thank you,

Benci  Thank you. There's nothing to be ashamed about, there is always a deeper meaning to everything. That's pretty high praise though! Thanks!  (Jun 10, 2012, 21:31 EDT)

I really like this one. The poem is really beautiful, and it fits well with your song, kind of unexpectedly. If I were just reading the poem and had to think of what kind of song would fit it, I'd probably go with a dramatic ballad(maybe Canada's own Celine!) since it's uplifting. It's cool that surf music/death poems work well together!

Benci  Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it. I've been sitting on an older version of this one for years now, and so I updated it and added the second part.  (Jun 10, 2012, 21:27 EDT)

Nice tune, man! I think I know where you got some influence for this one (Pink Floyd). I really like the slide guitar.
The vocal lines at the ends of the last two stanzas, especially, have that moment where they come together with the music really nicely. I hope you understand what I mean, because I don't feel like what I wrote gets the message across.

Belgion  Roger Waters told me the secret in my dreams!!!! I do know what you're talking about; I think that part turned out nicely, although I'm pretty sure it was by accident (hope I don't sound arrogant when I say that)...  (Feb 16, 2012, 16:52 EST)

I like the dreary feeling of this tune. Matches the weather here in Pittsburgh right now :o

Very nicely composed, and performed. Still would not mind hearing a little bit more layering with your vocals at the beginning of the tune, but I like it nonetheless! Also enjoyed the occasional harmonies :D Has somewhat of a 1970s' vibe to it :D Good guitar solos!
