'Blinded' was inspired by hanging out with Joe Satriani ( www.satriani.com ) and having him sign and doodle all over the guitar I played on this piece.

Ryan Toth gave feedback to tawmy for “Blinded”:
very well polished, sounds like something you would hear on a satriani or vai album. excellent musicianship, I would love to hear you with a live band !

tawmy  ... ThanX Ryan, I appreciate the feedback. There was a time when I was in a few bands, but life on the road doesn't appeal to me. I prefer being home and doing as I please. Satch or Vai I'm not. It took me several takes to play this piece, and forget almost everything once it's down. I enjoy creating and moving on. It would bore me to pieces having to play the same songs night after night unless I had an immense repertoire like the Stones, U2 etc. I have recorded probably over 1000 compositions / songs but 2/3 of them are just initial concepts.  (Dec 06, 2011, 08:34 PST)

Very chill. Nice licks. Has an '80's vibe.

What are you using to produce your tracks -- what recording software, I mean.

tawmy  ThanX Shoham, I Am a child of the 80s ... at least I was in my prime back then. I am using Logic Studio on my iMac. At one time I used Cubase, but I much prefer Logic for many reasons. They are very similar but I had a bad eXperience with Cubase as the eXpen$ive Producer Pak was loaded with demos. A good marketing strategy if you want one time buyers. And what do you use for recording software ?  (Nov 29, 2011, 07:25 PST)

WalaWalaWala  Cool. I've used Protools and Cubase primarily over the years, depending on the machine. One thing that pisses me off is that the project files of these platforms are not compatible with one another (not that I know of)! Are you writing new stuff too? I noticed most of your years on your tracks are from a few years back.  (Nov 29, 2011, 07:54 PST)

tawmy  Unfortunately files are not interchangeable between most software. This is a hinderance when working with others over the net. My piece titled 'Wake Up' is a very recent work. I've been composing for over 30 years so I have a rather large catalog. I am about to digitize all my old analog tracks for a winter project. I will upload some of them here as well as lo-fi tracks. I don't make my living doing this. I am more of a hobbyist that makes some fun money producing and tweaking tracks for others. I've had some of my songs covered by other artists, but not big enough to live off of royalties.  (Nov 29, 2011, 10:12 PST)

WalaWalaWala  Yeah. I just bought "Wake Up", actually. Let me know if and when you it goes through. I have an uncle who has been composing and recording for over 50 years, and even when a major symphony like the NYPH plays his works he only gets a few grand, so I'm always reminded not to take not making a living off of music personally. I got him to put some of his stuff on here: http://www.feed-forward.net/david You'll dig it, I imagine :D  (Nov 29, 2011, 10:44 PST)

WalaWalaWala  PS: Apologies for two message, but I should mention, all of his recordings are free downloads... We're trying to help him get his music out, especially to the younger generations. He's actually well into his 70's now...  (Nov 29, 2011, 10:45 PST)

tawmy  It went through, and thanks so much. There are many talented musicians / artists that have to keep their day-jobs.  (Nov 30, 2011, 21:00 PST)
